Attending IGC 2028
IGC 2028 is committed to ensuring broad global participation by making the Congress as accessible and affordable as possible. A range of budget-friendly accommodation options and reduced registration rates will be offered for students, GeoHost program participants, and delegates from low- and middle-income countries, helping to remove financial barriers for emerging researchers and those traveling from developing regions.
Together, these initiatives support a more inclusive Congress and help welcome a diverse community of geoscientists from around the world.
Accommodation
Calgary is home to world-class accommodations. With over 15,000 hotel rooms, there’s something for every budget and preference. There are just under 5,000 guest rooms in the downtown area and access to many more via the Light Rail Transit (LRT) which is located adjacent to the BMO Centre at Stampede Park.
The UCalgary offers options from contemporary suites with hotel amenities to budget-friendly student residence buildings with single rooms or shared accommodation apartments. MRU Residences offer fully furnished one-, two- and four-bedroom apartments and townhouses. SAIT offers spacious multiple suite stylings, from studio to four-bedroom suites. On-campus food services are available at each location, with a range of price options. Additional budget-friendly accommodations will be available through local post-secondary institutions.
Conference attendees, including GeoHost participants, will have affordable options to choose from.
