The Manitoba Geological Survey (MGS) conducts a wide range of geoscience investigations, which include the examination of exposed and buried bedrock, subsurface materials, and surficial sediments throughout Manitoba, as well as provides geoscience support for the regulatory framework and tenure systems managed by Manitoba Government department of Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation. The MGS provides fundamental geoscience data to industry and the public, and unbiased technical support to inform government policy and decision making, mineral exploration decisions, and wise land-use management.

Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) operates world-leading observatories on the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic coasts of Canada, and in the Southern Ocean. ONC is an initiative of the University of Victoria (UVic), is a Major Research Facility of Canada, and a Decade Implementing Partner for the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030). ONC maintains and grows world-leading deep-sea and coastal observatories on all three of Canada’s coasts, and in the Southern (Antarctic) Ocean. Its cabled infrastructure provides continuous power and internet connectivity to scientific instruments, cameras, and more than 12,000 ocean sensors. ONC also manages mobile and land-based assets, including coastal radar. The observatories generate continuous streams of sensor data, video, and underwater acoustic recordings used by more than 70,000 users worldwide. These data are accessible through the ONC Oceans 3.0 data portal. ONC is transforming ocean science through data technology innovation and partnerships that support scientific discovery, safer coastal communities, climate solutions, and a sustainable planet future.
